About the resort areas in Zillah, WA

The City of Zillah, situated in Central Washington and only fifteen minutes south from the City of Yakima, is offering individuals, businesses, investors and tourists a great number of opportunities to build, invest and live in this beautiful area.

The Zillah area is expanding with plans for two new resorts, new home construction, and new businesses in the upcoming months. Located in the Yakima Valley wine country, you will be close to numerous vineyards and wine makers.  The area boasts 300-plus days of sunshine and less than 10 inches of annual rainfall. Hiking, fishing, snow skiing, fly-fishing, water skiing, white-water rafting, hunting, golfing, cycling and sport events are just a few of the area’s attractions.

About the resorts:
First, currently under construction, is Zillah Lakes resort, located in Zillah, a 224-acre housing development that will feature a nine-hole, 3,326-yard golf course.  The development will include over 600 housing units, a community center, tennis courts and a swimming pool. Pricing for homes will start at $225,000 and condos starting at $180,000. Nearly half the residential lots, which range in size from 6,000 to 11,000 square feet, will be lakefront or along the golf course. The community will be built in various phases and will feature numerous amenities. Besides golf, facilities for kayaking, canoeing and swimming, along with trails for bicycling, jogging and walking, will be built. The community center will contain some commercial space for wine-related uses, plus a civic plaza for dining and entertainment.

The proposed Vineyards resort, just north of Zillah, will be a 500-acre, $500 million development that involves a 7,561-yard 18-hole golf course, over 580 single- and multi-family homes, a 100-room condo hotel, an open-air amphitheater, pool, spa, fitness center and retail areas. The high-end, full-service resort located atop Rattlesnake Ridge will be in the heart of Washington's wine country. Construction on the Vineyards will occur in several phases, starting with the golf course in the near future. Developing the infrastructure - building roads, laying water and sewer lines, erecting a water-treatment plant and other facilities - will be a two-year process. Lot prices will range from $250,000 to $1 million, with the larger homes expected to cost upwards of $1.5 million.

It is expected that the courses at Zillah Lakes and The Vineyards will open for play sometime in 2009.
